Advice for local plans

Local Nature Partnerships are prescribed in the regulations as bodies which local authorities 'should have regard to' given their role in the management of natural environmental assets, supporting biodiversity and, in particular, identifying Nature Improvement Areas.

As we have limited capacity to comment on all local plans, the Partnership has developed a self-assessment checklist and guidance note to help planning authorities to ensure that relevant nature considerations are included in their Local Plan.

The consultation protocol checklist is available from here and the consultation protocol guidance note from here.
